Nowhere Man is both a fantastic name and a completely unique pancake house hidden just behind Western Road on the same street as both Easy Tiger and the Craft Beer Co. We’re happy to report that when we say pancakes, we don’t mean french crepes, we mean chunky, fluffy and fully stacked American pancakes like this:
Above is the All American Dream with cream, maple butter, scrambled eggs and some bacon hidden between the pancakes, like a sandwich made of salvation. Aside from pancakes Nowhere Man stocks a full breakfast bar of drinks providing coffee, cocoa, milkshakes and special teas like chai and matcha. The venue is one of the few places I’ve visited which serves a long black.
Nowhere Man also serves sandwiches but I’ve no idea what they taste like because it’s a pancake shop. I’m sure they’re excellent though.
Be aware that Nowhere Man does not open late nor early, sticking to core office hours most of the time. We’ve usually found that we miss out on visiting if we’re busy during the day so worth keeping it in mind for either a late breakfast or an intentional lunch. They can also get quite full given that there’s not a massive amount of space inside, although they do have a garden out back and usually a couple seats out front. Additionally, you can take your food away, and if you’re staying at Finch Lodge you’ll get a decking to yourself!
A great restaurant with a fantastic vibe, unmatched pancakes and wonderful staff. Worth a visit whenever possible
