Fika is an honest, down to earth, honest food stop that means ‘coffee’ in Swedish, but ‘satisfaction’ in reality. Imagine you’ve been up early, you’ve been working hard up until mid morning and you’re nursing a level of hunger that is starting to erode your mood. Fika will fix that and bring you back to a happier place. You need one of these:
Or possibly some hash browns:
Fika isn’t just the recovery food, there’s a full set of pastries and coffee available with seats both inside and out. Once again, we’re looking at another east facing restaurant that allows for a good amount of vitamin D on sunny mornings.
I love businesses like this. Good solid food that you know the proprietors designed from the heart. On a personal basis, I like the embrace of raw simplicity present in the food, the coffee and the surroundings. Having a stoneware cup of fresh espresso sitting in the sunshine at a wooden bench with the Mrs is the sort of experience I’m after.
Be aware that Fika can close relatively early, so be sure to check their site for opening times
