The Boudica is a newly opened eatery and provided a core part of the energy we used revamping Finch Lodge over Summer 2022. Having a local business serving healthy breakfasts and lunches at the end of our road felt like cheating. Especially when the meals look like this:
The Boudica serves a very typical menu with full breakfasts, pastries, egg based meals such as Benedicts and soldiers and a variety of porridges. It’s straightforward but beautifully cooked and elegantly delivered.
The special parts of The Boudica are instead in its location and its setting. Firstly having this down the road from Finch Lodge is a massive win for everyone involved. Secondly The Boudica has a huge indoor dining area with full windows around all exterior walls. Even on overcast Autumn days the interior has still felt bright and alert. Additionally, plug sockets are installed at almost all tables, giving you an option for working remotely or quickly charging devices.
On warmer days you’ll also find some seats outside alongside the evening sun entering the dining room during Summer.
Coffee and cake are also freely available all day, with close currently at 5pm. As The Boudica is based on Western Road - ie, the main street - there’s no detour for most trips. This establishment has been a favourite of ours for many months and we heartily recommend them for a superb start to the day.
